March, 2009 Dear Current and Future Friends of Children with Cancer: It’s that time of year again to prepare for Johnny B’s 15th Annual Scotch Doubles Candlelight Bowling Party! The 2009’s date is Friday, May 8th at Beverly Lanes in Arlington Heights. As in the past all of the proceeds are being donated to the Brian Delanty Foundation (click here for more information) . Most of the money raised is generated through our raffles and 99% of our prizes are donated. All donations are tax deductible under section 501 (c ) (3) of the Code for foundations. This year I am trying to match last year’s donation of $12,250 to the BDF. To accomplish this goal, I will be selling special raffle tickets prior to and during the bowling party. These tickets can be sold to anyone - friends, family, and co-workers, because the winner need not be present to win. This raffle will be for our BIG prizes. This year our BIG prizes include: a Weber Gas Grill, Cub baseball game tickets, golf outings, and well filled liquor baskets. This raffle costs $5.00 per ticket or 5 tickets for $20.00. At the Candlelight I will have our usual dollar raffle for dinners, services, sportswear, collectibles, etc. I hope you will open your heart and support our efforts for this very worthy cause with a donation I can use in one of our two raffles. Again this year I am looking for Alley Sponsors. The cost is $300 per alley or a pair for $500. This will be a special way for businesses that want to be part of the fundraiser, but do not have a product or service to donate to be actively involved. All alleys that are sponsored will have a large professionally made banner announcing the Sponsor’s Name. We are hoping that this added revenue will help keep us over the $10,000 mark this year and every year!
